Polyester fiber is a short-cut fiber made of modified polyester chips by special processing. It is a new anti-cracking reinforcement material specially developed for strengthening asphalt concrete. The fiber has strong anti-aging ability after anti-ultraviolet treatment, and has the characteristics of large fiber fineness, high strength and easy dispersion. Polyester fiber also has outstanding thermal stability, and is not brittle, deformed and has good compatibility with asphalt in a temperature environment of -40℃-220℃. When added to asphalt concrete, it can form a huge number of three-dimensional distribution of fiber monofilaments after stirring, which plays a role of reinforcement and bridging, effectively improving the mechanical properties of asphalt mixture and preventing asphalt concrete from cracking.

Function of Polyester Fiber

1. Polyester fiber plays the role of reinforcing ribs. The fibers are randomly distributed and overlapped to form a network entanglement on the mixture, which can effectively overcome the slippage of aggregates and hinder the generation of cracks

2. Polyester fiber plays the role of absorbing asphalt. Due to the large specific surface area of ​​the fiber, it can absorb the oil in the asphalt and increase its viscosity and adhesion.

3. Polyester fiber plays a stabilizing role. Due to the strong high-temperature stability of the fiber, it can significantly prevent the flow of asphalt at high temperatures in summer, and play a high-temperature stabilizing role on asphalt.

4. Viscosity enhancement, improves adhesion, enhances the adhesion of asphalt and mineral materials, and improves the adhesion between aggregates through the bonding of oil film.

5. Polyester fiber plays a role in toughening and crack resistance, because the fiber modulus value is high, the elongation is strong, it has effective stress distribution and crack resistance, and can effectively prevent low-temperature brittle cracking.
