How do you get concrete in early strength?

Using ordinary concrete constituents and special admixtures, high-early-strength concrete, often referred to as fast track concrete, gains its specified strength at an early age. The time during which it should attain this specified strength ranges from a few hours to several days. It is used in rapid form reuse, prefabricated concrete for fast part processing, high-speed cast-in-place building, cold-weather construction, quick repair of pavements to minimize traffic interruption, and fast-track paving.

Reduce Water To Cement Ratio :

The water to cement ratio is the most important factor affecting the hydration and strength development of concrete. Mixes that have a low water to cement ratio gain strength much faster than mixes with a higher w/c ratio.

Accelerating Admixtures:

Chemical admixtures are used to increase the rate of hydration and develop strength in concrete. The best known accelerating admixtures are calcium chloride, which is standardized by (ASTM D 98), and polysulfate nitrate.

Use of Lower Temperature for Freshly Mixed Concrete:

For a concrete to reach its full strength potential, it needs to be cured at temperatures within the range of 68 degrees F. Curing at lower temperatures allows for more hydration, which increases the early strength of the concrete.

Set Accelerating Admixtures:

Normally, a slurry containing a mixture of gypsum and soluble salts is added to the water in the concrete mixture, followed by mixing. The sodium sulfate in the slurry prevents the gypsum from dissolving and the soluble salts help to slow down the set of the concrete.
