(Cement Foaming Agent)
A cement foaming agent is an admixture that enhances the production of concrete containing air by inducing a rapid entrainment of gases within the base slurry. A foamed concrete mix typically consists of a cement or fly ash, sand, water, and a foaming agent, mixed with an air generator to produce air bubbles in a controlled manner in the mixture. The resulting air-rich concrete is very light in weight and can be used for many applications, including oilwell cementing.
Foaming agents can be formulated from a variety of different substances and chemical groups. However, it has been discovered that a special subgroup of alkylnaphthylene sulphonates functions in a completely novel way as a foaming admixture in the particular environment in which it is employed. This substance behaves very differently than the other members of this group and other surface active sulphates or sulphonates that have been tested as substitutes.
It has also been found that the presence of certain forms of alginates or polyacrylic acid esters strengthens the walls of the bubbles and prevents them from collapsing during mixing, pumping and hardening. Similarly, the use of polyvinyl chloride mechanically strengthens the bubbles by deposition of particles of the resin in the walls of the bubbles.
EABASSOC Foaming Agent can be used with all types of Portland cements and incorporated into either pure cement only, or in sand-cement mortar slurries to prepare foamed concrete for all types of construction projects. It is important to wear safety goggles, gloves and appropriate work clothing when working with this product and any other materials in concrete making.
