Introduction of Polypropylene Bundled Fiber
Polypropylene bundled twisted fiber is a high-performance fiber used in construction projects that is resistant to acid and alkali corrosion, has high tensile strength, large elastic modulus, and strong acid and alkali resistance. It is easy to disperse, easy to construct, and is good for mixing equipment. No damage and other characteristics. Polypropylene bundled stranded fibers are made from polypropylene as raw material and are deeply processed through special processing, wire drawing and surface treatment. They have the advantages of high breaking strength, good dispersion in concrete, and strong holding power. It is widely used in cement concrete to enhance anti-crack, anti-permeability and anti-aging functions.
Features of Polypropylene Bundled Fiber
Compared with steel fibers, the polypropylene fiber monofilaments obtained after the polypropylene bundled twisted fibers are fully dispersed have the significant advantages of low density and large quantity. In addition, the polypropylene fiber itself has the ability to not absorb water and resist acid and alkali. The strength and elastic modulus are equivalent to those of concrete, making its improvement in the performance of concrete particularly prominent in the following points.
Improve the crack resistance, impermeability, wear resistance, impact resistance and fatigue resistance, bending resistance and flexural resistance of concrete. Improve the internal reinforcement capacity of concrete, improve the plastic deformation capacity of concrete, especially high-strength concrete, have strong acid and alkali resistance, and have good durability.

Application of Polypropylene Bundled Fiber
1. Large-volume concrete pouring, such as docks, high-rise building conversion beams, columns, floor slabs, etc.
2. Concrete wear-resistant hardened floor, emery floor and other industrial floors.
3. Roof treatment, basement, etc. of industrial and civil buildings.
4. Pavements and guardrails of roads and bridges.
5. Concrete pouring for dams, pools, parking lots, stadiums, etc.
6. Make concrete components, pipes, plates, etc.
7. Shotcrete for tunnels, mines, culverts, slopes, etc.
8. Chemical plants with higher requirements for alkali resistance and chemical corrosion, etc.
How to Use Polypropylene Bundled Fiber
Recommended dosage: When the requirements for anti-cracking reinforcement are high, it is recommended to add 3-6kg/m3 of fiber; when the requirements for anti-cracking reinforcement are average, add 1kg-1.5kg/m of polypropylene bundle fibers and 0.4kg-0.6kg/m3 of mesh fibers. Mix for better results.
Mixing process: add aggregate, add fiber → add cement, add water and stir → add additional water until all fibers are dispersed.

FAQs of Polypropylene Bundled Fiber
1. Can Polypropylene Bundled Fiber replace steel rebar?
- Answer: While polypropylene bundled fiber can improve the overall performance of concrete, it is not intended to fully replace steel rebar in structural applications. However, it can complement steel rebar by providing additional crack control and enhancing the concrete’s durability.
2. Is Polypropylene Bundled Fiber UV resistant?
- Answer: Polypropylene fibers are generally not UV resistant. Exposure to UV light can degrade the fibers over time. However, UV-stabilized versions are available for outdoor applications.
3. How does Polypropylene Bundled Fiber affect the workability of concrete?
- Answer: While adding fiber can slightly reduce workability due to increased viscosity, proper mixing techniques and the use of superplasticizers can help maintain good workability.
4. Are there any safety concerns when working with Polypropylene Bundled Fiber?
- Answer: Handling should be done with care to avoid inhalation of loose fibers. Wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), such as dust masks and gloves, is recommended.
5. What is the lifespan of Polypropylene Bundled Fiber in concrete?
- Answer: Polypropylene fibers are stable and durable in concrete, potentially lasting as long as the concrete itself if protected from UV degradation and other environmental factors.
